MARIA DEBARI

Hometown: Glacier, WA, USA
Currently resides: Leavenworth, WA, USA
Current sponsors: GNU Snowboards
Bindings: Women's Surge Pro

Maria grew up eating pasta in a weird little town at the foot of Mt. Baker. After traveling all over the world, she is now positive that no better place exists to go snowboarding than the Cascades, and there is a lifetime of exploration that still exists. Maria has several Freeride World Tour wins to her name, but is now focusing less of her energy on big-mountain competitions and a little more on PNW splitboard adventures. Currently a full time student, Maria gets her splitboard fix on the weekends and has designed her schedule so she has the spring free to shred.

Q & A

Watching the solar eclipse from the summit of Mt. Shasta with eight of my  friends was pretty magical, then riding 7k of perfect corn snow back to our tents. And there has been so many more amazing adventures since then, sometimes it makes me feel like the luckiest person in the world.

Being back in Washington and exploring more of the Cascades!

My dad the telemarker is the one who taught me how to splitboard in the first place, and I certainly wouldn't be here without him.

Being in the mountains. That is where I am my best self.

It's simple and super functional. I know I can always count on it.
