Q & A

I have been guiding in the high mountains since 1995... A long time!

UIAGM/IFMGA High Mountain Guide - ISIA/ISTD Ski and Snowboard Teacher/Performance Coach

My first mentors in the guiding world were Chamonix based guides Dave Cumming and Ralf Tenbrink. I think I owe most of what I do today to these guys. I am also constantly learning from, and influenced by, all of my fellow professionals who share my passion for the mountains.

After moving from my hometown of Chamonix to 'Surf City' Biarritz on the West Coast of France last year, I ran some courses for the first time in the nearby Mountain range of the Pyrenees and was suitably impressed with what I found. The potential for Splitting here is endless and I'm really excited to be heading back there again this coming winter to see what I can find.

I'll be running a new course/camp with my 'Free the Ride' camp in the Freeride mecca of St Foy in the Haute Tarentaise, which again I am really looking forward to. I'll revisit Japan with my 'Japow tour', run my regular Backcountry courses in Chamonix and revisit my fav location for Splitting, the incredible 'Lofoten isles' where I found a completely new and very isolated zone last winter that I am keen to explore more.

Once again I have a very full calendar of courses that I am very excited about but above all else, I'm just looking forward to getting out and surfing mountains again! #ilovesurfingmountains
