Mr. Chomps gets a new look with improved features for the 2010/2011 season
Here at Spark R&D we pride ourselves on providing the most innovative and high performance splitboarding gear on the market. With that in mind, we would like to introduce you to the newest version of our popular Mr. Chomps splitboard crampon.
Stronger: By bringing production entirely in-house this year, we were able to upgrade the quality of aluminum used to make the crampons (now 6061-T6 aluminum). The end result is 60% harder and 40% stronger.
Longer Teeth & Centered Underfoot: Product testing and rider feedback encouraged us to increase the length of the crampon teeth for even more Chomp. The new crampon boasts teeth 2 in. [5 cm] in length – that’s 0.35 in. [0.8 cm] longer than the previous version. In addition, the teeth position has been shifted forward to be more centered underfoot for balance and control.
Compatibility: Mr. Chomps are now compatible with the new Voile dual climbing wires.
Sizing: We are still offering two sizes: Regular (< 26cm board waist) and Wide ( >26cm board waist)
Lighter: Despite the improved quality of aluminum and longer teeth length, advanced design efforts enabled us to shave even more weight off of each crampon. Many say less is more. With the new Mr. Chomps, it is entirely true. They now weigh less than a pound.
